Brunswick Eruption 9 - November 6, 2010
North Brunswick, NJ - hosted by Raider Robotix
Brunswick Eruption is an off-season competition where the 2010 FIRST Breakaway game is replayed. The mission of the FIRST Robotics program is to "inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication and leadership." - usfirst.org For more information regarding FIRST, please visit www.usfirst.org.

Teams are invited to bring a Pre-Rookie team to Brunswick Eruption 9 using one of your older robots refitted to play the FIRST Lunacy game. The Pre-Rookie team will be given free admission. The loaning team will pay only $100 - yes, that's half the price. Bring two pre-rookie teams and get free admission. About Brunswick Eruption
Brunswick Eruption was started in 2002 mainly to get FIRST teams active in the region. Our goals still remain the same. Usually over 40 teams from all over the Northeast participate. The Brunswick Eruption Off-Season competition is a replay of the FIRST 2010 Breakaway game. The goal of the FIRST Robotics Competition is to get students involved in fields of science and engineering by participating in robotics competitions.
RINOS and Pre-Rookies: RINOS or Rookies In Need Of Support is a program started by team 25. RINOS pairs up rookie teams with experienced veteran teams in order to help them through their first season.
This radical new concept evolved when a team from Baldwin, NY participated in Brunswick Eruption in 2004. They came to Brunswick Eruption before they were an official FIRST team by borrowing a neighboring team's robot. After seeing this, we thought that this is the best way to go ahead and start new teams because they will be experienced and excited before their first season. Since then, we have been re-fitting old robots to play the current game and letting pre-rookie teams compete with them. We also encourage all veteran teams capable of doing so to do so.
